Charles Ley, Veterinary radiologist.

Qualifications: European specialist veterinary diagnostic imaging, DipECVDI, PhD, Swedish specialist in small animal diagnostic imaging, MVetMed (Diagnostic Imaging), MANZCVS (Radiology), BVSc. Specific interests: Diagnostic imaging of all animal species, nuclear medicine, osteoarthritis, obesity, osteochondrosis, kidney disease.

Charles has worked at the UDS diagnostic imaging clinic since 2002 after working for 9 years in private mixed practice in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Charles spends 50% of his time working in the diagnostic imaging clinic, where he works with radiography, ultrasound, scintigraphy, computer tomography and magnetic resonance imaging of all animal species. Charles is the director of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging residency at SLU, and supervises residents.

Charles spends 50% of his time in the department of clinical sciences where he teaches veterinary students and does research. Charles's current research projects include: osteoarthritis in cats and horses, obesity in cats, measurement of kidney function in dogs using scintigraphy, sinus disease in horses, osteochondrosis in pigs, pectus excavatum in Bengal cats. Charles publishes regularly in international journals and presents regularly at international and national conferences.
